And then there were four....and holy cow what a four we have left. Two 1 seeds and two 2 seeds and all of them the best of the best when it comes to The Force and swinging that saber. These are the 4 that are all legit enough to win this thing and you can make a strong case for each of them to do just that. This is the hardest round to judge, by far, and also the round that could get me in the most trouble. Make one wrong pick and the fans will turn on you in a second.
Luke Skywalker (1) vs. Obi-Wan Kenobi (2)
Ooooooooo! How can two to the most respected Jedi square off and we remain objective? The chosen one vs. the battle tested Jedi Master who kept a watchful eye on him. Do we strictly go by feeling and who is more well liked? Are there actual metrics we could follow? Is there a moment that holds more weight than the opponents? I'm afraid that I don't have those answers, but I'm going to do my best to be objective.
Luke Skywalker is the chosen one, resisted Darth Vader, and inadvertently (with the help of his dad) brought balance to The Force. He was trained by the 2 most respected Jedi Masters and using The Force as his guide destroyed the Death Star. His natural talent and ability don't have a rival (now that his dad is dead) and something tells me that his child (Hmmmm....) is going to be a natural herself. On top of all of this, he has the best droid in the history of the galaxy in R2D2. Sure he lost a hand, but who hasn't lost a hand in the Star Wars universe at this point.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is an OG Clone Wars general and Jedi Master. Respected by Yoda and was one of the people that kept the Jedi alive when so many others were killed. He single-handedly killed 2 participants in this tournament and could have killed a 3rd if he wanted to. He took out Anakin to the point that he was so close to death he had to be patched back together in order to survive. Obi-Wan could have killed him, but instead left him there as a form of mercy.
Just by the pure number of battle experiences against truly formidable opponents, the winner can only be one choice.
Winner: Obi-Wan Kenobi
Master Yoda (1) vs. Mace Windu (2)
Say dark side again! One more mother fucking time! Young Yoda vs. Mace Windu would be one of the best light saber battles ever. Yoda can clearly hold his own against anyone and Mace Windu is considered one of the best in the history of the Jedi. My heart wants to pick Mace Windu to win this battle, but my head is not going to let me do that.
Master Yoda is too good, too patient, and too skilled in the ways of The Force. He trained so many of the participants of this tournament, and that can't be taken for granted. Sure, he ended up going into hiding, but that was for the greater good of protecting the ways of The Force. If it wasn't for Yoda and Obi-Wan, then the real meaning of the Jedi would have been lost forever. Him being aware of that importance is more important than a light saber duel and he wouldn't let himself be killed in one for that reason.
Winner: Master Yoda
